ICT for independent living and elderly care at home
CARICT: Study on “ICT-based solutions for caregivers: assessing their impact on the sustainability of long-term care in an ageing Europe” (12.2010-12.2011)
This study, jointly funded with DG INFSO and run by the European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research in Vienna, was documenting systematically the extent of ICT-enabled services to support carers, and explored in depth how this type of initiative works.
The goal was to understand how ICT can play role in the future mix of services and supports available to the elderly and their carers andto facilitate the creation of a sufficient number of available (motivated) and skilled domiciliary caregivers in European society.
- Deliverable 3.6: Final report on the “Methodological Framework”: This report proposes a framework for Impact Assessment of ICT-enabled services to support informal carers, at family, organisational and national levels, and applies this framework to assess the evidence for impact in 12 cases from Europe and North America.
