Panagiotis Kampylis

Panagiotis Kampylis has been working as a scientific officer at the European Commission, Joint Research Centre, Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (Information Society Unit) since January 2012. He has contributed mainly to projects on innovating learning and teaching such as the 'Up-Scaling Creative Classrooms in Europe' (SCALE CCR), Mapping and Analysing Prospective Technologies for Learning (MATEL), 1:1 Learning in Europe and Horizon Report Europe – 2014 Schools Edition. His current research focus is on Digital Competence Framework for schools, teachers and students.

Panagiotis has a Ph.D. in Cognitive Sciences from the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) thanks to a scholarship from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation. The title of his Ph.D. dissertation is “Fostering creative thinking - the role of primary teachers.”

He has authored and co-authored several scientific publications in the fields of Creativity and Innovation in Education and Training, Arts Education, and ICT-enhanced Learning. Before joining IPTS he worked for several years as primary teacher, head teacher, teacher trainer and creativity researc
