The two largest ICT services sub-sectors in the EU –Computer programming, consultancy and related activities and Telecommunications– represented almost 72% of the total VA produced by the ICT sector in 2012. In this year, the value added created in ICT manufacturing was lower than the VA produced in the Wholesale of IC equipment (Figure 2–1).

Note:New MS are Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Rest of old MS comprise Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg and Portugal.
Note: Finland experiences a negative value for year 2012 due to few large enterprises logging much higher expenditures in income statement then previous years.

Germany (24.98%) dominates ICT manufacturing, followed by Italy (15.80%), the UK (13.28%), Sweden (9.00%) and France (7.09%). ICT services sector was dominated by a group of four countries: the UK (19.33%), Germany (16.32%), France (16.05%), and Italy (10.63%), that represented 62.32% of the total EU ICT services VA (Figure 2-2)
